WWI 1915 Canadian Dismounted Pattern Leather Ammunition Pouch - Oliver Equipment

Item Summary: WWI 1915 Canadian Pouch - French Army Reissue (Toul Depot)

Historical Provenance:

This is a rare "double-history" piece of militaria. Originally manufactured in 1915/16 as part of the Canadian Dismounted (Oliver) Pattern equipment for the Canadian Expeditionary Force (CEF), this pouch remained in Europe after the Great War. It was later integrated into the French military supply system, as evidenced by the rare internal markings and original warehouse tags.

Key Features & Markings:

Origin: Genuine WWI Canadian leather construction with original brass hardware.

Internal Stamp "FTS": Clear internal ink/heat stamp for Fusil (Rifle), a French military designation used when re-issuing surplus gear for their own riflemen.

Original "ERM de TOUL" Tags: Includes two original 3" x 2" paper inventory tags from the Établissement de Réserve Générale du Matériel in Toul, France.

Logistics Data: The tags specifically identify this unit for 7.5mm rifle ammunition (standard for the French MAS-36) with warehouse location codes (I2I2 I3) and size classification (Taille 2).

Condition Report:

Leather: High-quality, thick brown leather with a rich, dark patina. It remains flexible and structurally sound for its age.

Hardware: All brass studs and the central D-ring are present and firmly attached.

Size: Approximately 6" W x 5" H (see photos for scale against ruler).
