The Ralph Martindale No. 49 is a classic World War II-era military-style bush machete. The No. 49 pattern is highly regarded by collectors of military surplus and vintage edge-tools because it was a standard-issue design utilized by British and Commonwealth forces during WWII.

Item:** Vintage WWII-Era Military Pattern Bush Machete
**Manufacturer:** Ralph Martindale & Co. Ltd. (Crocodile Works - Birmingham, England)
**Model Number:** No. 49
**Country of Origin:** Made in England

**Blade Markings:**
Deeply stamped on the flat of the steel: "MARTINDALE BIRMINGHAM MADE IN ENGLAND" alongside the iconic Martindale Crocodile trademark logo stamped above the word "REGISTERED". The right-hand side of the blade layout is stamped with the clear model number: "No 49".

**Condition Notes:**
* Blade: In solid, rugged vintage condition. Shows an authentic, aged dark steel patina with honest surface wear, light oxidation spotting, and cosmetic scuffs appropriate for its age. The edge is intact with no catastrophic cracks or deep chunks missing. The factory markings and crocodile logo remain visibly identifiable.
* Handle: The grip has been heavily wrapped in yellow and black electrical tape by a previous owner (please review photos). It feels firm and secure in the hand, but it is being sold exactly as found--making this a phenomenal candidate for a custom grip restoration or to keep exactly as a rugged utility piece.
* Sheath: NOT included.
