Vtg Railroad Lantern Candle Signal Light Antique USSR Russian RR Conductor Trolley needs some tlc... never seen one before! bought out a lantern collection, alot of cool lanterns listed!! This lantern actually has an interesting purpose. It is intended for use as lighting in soviet "Teplushka" wagons. These are goods wagons that, if necessary, were quickly adapted to transport people (soldiers, deportees, prisoners). The lantern had to be hung on nails hammered into the wooden walls of the wagon. "Teplushka" wagons were widely used from the 1870s to the end of the 1940s.
