The Williams Whitefish C8S is a 5-1/4 inch, 1 oz. medium-sized trolling spoon, featuring a genuine silver-plated finish (S) and a distinctively shaped body designed for a wide, fluttering wobble at various speeds. It is highly effective for Great Lakes salmon, large trout, and northern pike, known for its bright flash, which is enhanced by a stabilizing ridge that prevents it from spinning.

Model: Williams Whitefish (Medium - C80 series)

Color: S (Silver Mirror/Plated)

Length: 5-1/4"

Weight: 1 oz.

Action: Erratic, wounded baitfish action due to unique shape.

Target Species: Salmon, Trout, Northern Pike, Walleye.

Key Features:

Precious Metal Finish: Plated with genuine silver, which reflects light further than standard chrome or nickel.

Versatility: Functions well in both high-speed trolling and slower retrieves, as well as casting or deep-water downrigger fishing.

Tarnish Resistant: The silver finish is protected by a baked-on "electroclear" coat.

Structure: It features a stabilizing ridge that allows it to maintain its wobble at high speeds without flipping. The Williams Comet lure (specifically C8S, often associated with silver-plated finishes) is a classic, versatile trolling and casting spoon known for its bright, fish-attracting flash, particularly for trout, salmon, and pike. It is effective when trolled at various speeds due to its stable, wobbling action, often used with split shot to reach desired depths.

Target Species: Highly effective for Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout, Salmon, Northern Pike, and Walleye.

Action & Flash: The genuine silver plating (often denoted in C8S or similar models) reflects light well at depth, mimicking baitfish.

Fishing Techniques:

Trolling: Ideal for long-lining or with downriggers.

Casting: Can be cast and retrieved, wobbling at slow to moderate speeds.

Jigging: Effective for vertical jigging, especially in colder water.

Versatility: Often used with treble hooks, but can be switched to single hooks for better catch-and-release.

For optimal results, trolling with a 2-3 mph speed is typical, but the spoon's shape allows it to maintain action at slower speeds, making it ideal for targeting cold-water trout.
