Vtg black rotary dial telephone Kellogg 1000 40's Home Business redbar phone Decor Factory has a chunk out of corner.
vintage black rotary dial telephone This is a Kellogg 1000, aka the "Redbar" phone, so called for an obvious reason. These have nothing in common with WE's phones, but are great phones. Their only weakness is their brittle Bakelite shell, as opposed to the flexible Tenite that Western Electric used until 1959. (1959 was a transition year - they phased in a new ABS plastic that was harder and more brittle than Tenite, but not as bad as true Bakelite, except for black phones. All color phones were ABS by mid 1960.)
