Description
This is a vintage Walthers HO Scale 60' Material Handling / Baggage Car, released as a special edition in collaboration with the United States Postal Service (USPS). The car celebrates the 1991 stamp campaign with its bold side slogan: "Journey to a new frontier... COLLECT STAMPS. The Stamp Campaign: The model was produced as a timely promotional release following the United States Postal Service's massive real-world "Journey to a New Frontier" space stamp campaign, which kicked off in late 1991. Manufactured approx. 1992.
The silver body shell replicates a corrugated stainless steel passenger train style, uniquely detailed with full-color reproductions of historic USPS postage stamps (including the 29¢ Space Exploration, Stagecoach, and 30¢ Cardinal stamps).
- Condition: New in Box (NIB) / New Old Stock.
- Scale: HO Scale (1:87).
- Details: The car comes securely seated inside its original protective clear plastic insert nesting. It features finely molded rivet details, undercarriage equipment modeling, and integrated body-mounted couplers.
- Packaging: Housed inside its plain white generic factory window box container, which has a measuring rule layout for sizing context. The box and interior contents are clean, unweathered, and in excellent collector condition.
