Up for sale is a uniquely compiled, vintage tradesman’s field kit housed in a customized antique wooden artist case. The box itself is an authentic piece of history, retaining its original brass manufacturer's plate from the renowned Devoe & Raynolds Co., Inc., manufacturers of fine artists' materials . This paint box was repurposed by a civil engineer or surveyor who masterfully added custom green felt blocking to securely cradle a specialized assortment of field tools.
This cohesive "time-capsule" collection is perfect for antique tool collectors, industrial decorators, or fans of unique historical tradesman gear.
Kit Contents & Component Details:
- Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. Double Lens Pocket Loupe: Features a textured black casing stamped with the classic Bausch & Lomb diamond logo and marked 3X - 3.5X - 6X . The two optical glass lenses swing out smoothly and can be paired together to step up the magnification power to 6X.
- Stanley No. 106 Folding Zig-Zag Rule: A classic, rigid 6-foot wooden folding rule featuring robust brass joints. Condition is clean with legible markings.
- "Universal" 100 Ft. Steel Measuring Tape: A long-distance flexible steel survey line protected in its original black circular housing with a functional fold-out crank handle.
- Vintage Keuffel & Esser Cylindrical Pocket Sight Level: A handheld optical survey tube with an internal leveling vial, complete with its original form-fitting brown leather belt sheath.
