Vintage Chi-Namel Gold Enamel Radiator Paint Can Ohio Varnish Co.
This is an incredibly rare, authentic antique sample paint can from The Ohio Varnish Co. of Cleveland, Ohio. Dating to the early 1910s to 1920s, this Size AA tin features its original, vibrant yellow paper label advertising Chi-Namel Gold Enamel. The front showcases a wonderfully detailed, classic early 20th-century lithographed graphic of a mascot character painting a household radiator.
Measuring approximately 3.5 inches tall and 2.5 inches in diameter, this specimen still retains its original container and textured gold glitter/powder residue from its original contents. This particular gold/radiator variant is exceptionally difficult to find compared to standard wood varnish tins from the same era. The paper label shows some wear, minor paper loss, and light staining consistent with age, but the central graphics remain clear, bold, and highly displayable. A perfect piece of petroliana-era hardware shop history for collectors of antique advertising tins, vintage paints, or industrial Americana.
