Up for sale is a wonderful mid-century vintage United Lighter Company desk/table lighter set, proudly made in the USA.
This classic 1950s two-piece tobaccoriana set features an automatic push-button lift arm petrol lighter mechanism set in a solid ribbed brass cap. The lighter body is made of heavy copper and neatly nests inside a matching solid copper outer dish base.
Manufacturer: United Lighter Co.
Era: Circa 1955–1960
Markings: Stamped "MADE IN U.S.A.", "PAT. 2,723,547", with the United flame emblem on the base.
Dimensions: Lighter assembly measures approx. 2 inches across; outer nest bowl measures approx. 2.5 inches wide (Please see physical photos with ruler for exact scale).
Condition: Authentic vintage condition with a beautiful, deep aged patina, light oxidation spots, and minor surface scuffs. The automatic lift-arm spring mechanism functions smoothly when pressed. The wheel turns, but the flint is worn down and the wick is original/untested. Being sold as-is for display or collection.
