Up for sale is a highly collectible, authentic vintage 1984 Zippo Slim pocket lighter in its iconic Matte Black finish. This specific piece is a verified First-Year-of-Issue textbook example from the debut of Zippo's powder-coating era.
To launch the matte finish line in 1984, the Bradford factory utilized leftover stockpiles of premium brass slim cases pre-stamped with the 1980 date code (// ZIPPO /), coating them in the new matte black finish and pairing them directly with brand-new 1984 date-coded inserts (\\\\ ZIPPO \\). This historical factory combination is well-documented and highly sought after by collectors.
The lighter features the vintage vertical, stark white screen-printed block logo on the lower front face, which is crisp and fully intact.
