The guard is designed to protect the motorcycle while complementing its styling and also provides a place to mount highway pegs (sold separately).

The kit includes the engine guard and all required mounting hardware. General Harley-Davidson engine guard hardware typically consists of: 

  • Top Mount: 5/16-24 x 1-1/4" bolt, flat washer, and locknut.
  • Lower Mounts: 3/8-16 bolts (short and long versions) and locknuts.
  • Torque Specs: Top mounting hardware is generally tightened to 19 ft-lbs, while lower mounting hardware is tightened to 33 ft-lbs.

Fitment: Harley-Davidson part number 49215-07 is specifically designed for 2004–2022 Sportster (XL and XR) models. 

While it has broad compatibility across this range, there are several notable exceptions based on specific model configurations.

Hardware & Accessory Constraints

  • Front Spoilers: This engine guard will not fit if your motorcycle is equipped with a front spoiler.
  • Soft Lowers: It is compatible with Soft Lowers (P/N 57100211), which are custom-shaped to hug this specific guard.
  • Highway Pegs: The guard has a 1.25-inch (32mm) diameter tubing, which is compatible with most standard 1.25" highway peg mounting clamps.
