Marvel's horror anthology Chamber of Chills Volume 1, Issue #9, was published on December 11, 1973, with a cover date of March 1974. Like others in the series, this issue primarily features reprints from Marvel's 1950s pre-code titles such as Uncanny Tales, Mystery Tales, and Mystic.

Cover Art: Pencils by Ron Wilson with inks by Mike Esposito. Some sources also attribute alterations to Carl Burgos and Marie Severin.

Contents: This 36-page issue contains four eerie stories:

"The Man Who Changed": A timid man stays behind to witness an H-bomb test, resulting in a transformation into a powerful but shunned figure.

"I Can't Stop Running!": Art by Sam Kweskin; a diamond thief is trapped on a spiked treadmill by a hermit.

"One Who Dared": Art by Mort Lawrence; a boy living in a post-atomic underground civilization explores the surface world.

"The Test!": Art by Dick Ayers; a psychologist's dream about hyper-intelligent hamsters makes him rethink his experiments.
