Antique Civil War Era Silvered Brass Horse Bridle Rosette Heart Medallion Tack
This authentic antique horse bridle rosette dates back to the Civil War era (circa 1860s). It features a beautiful, raised central heart motif stamped onto a circular disc with a classic tinned or silvered brass finish. The reverse side holds its original, intact heavy-duty iron attachment bar loop, which was used to secure the medallion onto a horse leather harness or martingale assembly. Measuring approximately 2.25 inches in diameter, this highly collectible piece of equestrian tack exhibits an excellent natural aged patina with minor oxidation and character wear consistent with historical military and civilian field use.
