Up for sale is an authentic, vintage 1970 Mattel Hot Wheels "Redline" Mercedes-Benz 280SL diecast car. This is the classic Hong Kong casting, notable for its blue-tinted windows, dark interior, and molded silver engine bay, finished in Spectraflame Magenta paint.
Condition Details:
- Body & Paint: Loose, as-is condition with no box. Shows honest play wear, including typical edge paint chipping ("flea bites") on the roof, trunk line, and front fenders. The metallic Magenta paint retains a nice vintage shine.
- Moving Parts: The front-hinged opening hood functions correctly and stays open smoothly to showcase the engine bay.
- Wheels & Axles: The wheels/axles are play worn, the car rolls with a wobble. One wheel has lost approximately 90% of its original chrome finish. The redline stripes are still visible. Metal base reads "© 1969 Mattel Inc Hong Kong."
