1954 Saunders Marvelous Mike Electromatic Tractor Robot Toy 1000 Needs Repair
Up for sale is a rare, highly collectible 1954 Marvelous Mike Electromatic Tractor (Model No. 1000),
manufactured by the Saunders Tool & Die Co. of Aurora, Illinois.
This mid-century pressed steel bulldozer features its iconic plastic robot driver ("Marvelous Mike")
at the controls. This unit is being sold as a restoration project and needs some work to be fully
operational. Gears are intact and are not locked. Blade has some rust.
Cosmetically, this specific toy is exceptionally complete--the robot still retains both of its incredibly
fragile red plastic hands and legs which need work, and the heavy black rubber crawler tracks remain
intact, supple, and unbroken.
The yellow paint shows authentic, light vintage wear, minor edge scuffing, and surface oxidation on the
front dozer blade and underside chassis. The internal motor and gear train appear clean and free of
modern modifications, making it a great candidate for a rebuild or repair.
Includes the original factory cardboard box. Please note the box is heavily damaged, crushed, and torn,
but it still legibly displays the original "No. 1000 Electromatic Tractor" graphics.
