1948 Wasp Air Cooled Electric Toy Motor Urbana Mfg Co Model B-148
This is a vintage 1948 Wasp air-cooled electric toy motor manufactured by the Urbana Manufacturing Company of Urbana, Ohio. Known as the Model B-148, this reversible 115-volt AC motor features a distinct closed gearbox housing with a top-mounted arrow selector switch to toggle between forward, reverse, and neutral. Equipped with multi-slot cone pulleys on both sides for adjustable project speeds, it was originally included as the power plant for specialized mid-century construction sets like "The Constructioneer" and remains highly compatible with vintage A.C. Gilbert Erector sets. This piece shows an authentic vintage patina with moderate enamel paint wear, and the mechanical assembly has been tested and operates smoothly in both directions. This item is considered highly uncommon due to the short six-year production run of the manufacturing company before closing its toy operations. Has Ben tested and wants to turn, Needs fixed or rebuilt.
