1930 Butler Fair PA Second Premium Award Ribbon - BF Harrison Co Poultry Show

Product Overview
A rare, highly localized piece of Western Pennsylvania history! Up for sale is an original Second Premium (Red) Award Ribbon from the Butler Fair and Exposition held in Butler, PA, from August 19-22, 1930.
What makes this ribbon incredibly unique is the beautifully preserved manufacturer's paper label remaining on the back: "The B.F. Harrison Co. - Supplies for Fairs, Poultry Shows and Expositions" out of New London, Ohio. This strongly indicates the ribbon was awarded during the agricultural or livestock poultry judging events at the 1930 fair.
Item Condition & Details
  • Front: Deep crimson red satin ribbon featuring a vibrant gold foil stamped inscription reading: "Second Premium / Butler Fair and Exposition / Butler, Pa. / August 19-22 1930". Features a detailed ornamental gold foil fringe along the bottom V-cut edge. The foil shows minor aging but remains bright and legible.
  • Back: Retains the authentic, untouched paper tag from the manufacturer with crisp typography and its original braided hanging cord attached through the top metal eyelet.
  • Condition Notes: Excellent vintage condition for a 95+ year-old textile. There is very minor fraying on the top raw edge and light storage creasing, but no heavy stains, dry-rotting, or tears.
  • Dimensions: Measures approximately 8.5 inches long (see ruler photos for exact scale).
