- Function: Used primarily by cobblers and upholsterers to both drive small tacks with the hammer head and extract them using the spring-loaded pivoting pincer jaw.
Design: Features a cast-iron or steel body with raised maker markings ("C.J. Capewell, Cheshire, CT" and "Pat. Nov. 25, 1873") and an integrated coil spring that snaps the jaw shut over a tack head when pressure is applied. 081326
